The Sintra Municipal Council approved a support of 244 thousand euros to ensure the continuity of the benefits granted to users covered by the Social Tariff and the Tarifa Sintra Solidária for water and sanitation.
The measure aims to support families in situations of economic hardship, recipients of the Social Integration Income, holders of the Cartão Sintra D'Ouro, and unemployed people registered with the Institute for Employment and Vocational Training, guaranteeing access to essential services.
The tariffs are provided through the Sintra Municipal Water and Sanitation Services and ensure the supply of the first five cubic meters of water consumption and the respective sanitation.
Beneficiaries are also exempt from tariffs related to water supply, sanitation, and urban waste, representing significant support for families with the greatest economic difficulties.
