Temperatures reach 30 degrees in Funchal

Temperatures reached 30 degrees in Funchal, capital of Madeira. The Portuguese Institute of the Sea and Atmosphere (IPMA) maintained the yellow warning for hot weather for the South Coast of Madeira and Porto Santo. The yellow warning is the lowest level of weather alert. The meteorological situation is affecting the autonomous region with heat conditions above the usual for this time of year.

The risk will remain very high in several regions at least until the end of the week, warning of conditions favorable to the occurrence of fires.

Second week of Rock in Rio should continue rainy

The second week of Rock in Rio should keep rainy weather in Rio de Janeiro. According to Climatempo, the rain will not let up, although with less intensity than in the first week of the festival. Starting at 3 PM, a cold front will bring rain to Portugal: these 8 districts will be the most affected

A cold front will begin affecting mainland Portugal starting at 3 PM on Tuesday, September 8th, bringing rain after several days of dry weather and high temperatures. The precipitation will enter from the Northwest of the country and gradually advance to other districts in the North and Central regions, affecting at least 8 districts. The ECMWF model indicates that the cold front will be very close to Minho around 3 PM, with increasing cloud cover before the rain arrives.
