Starting at 3 PM this Tuesday, October 8th, a cold front will begin affecting mainland Portugal, bringing rain after several days of dry weather and high temperatures. The precipitation will enter from the Northwest of the country and gradually advance to other districts in the North and Central regions.
The frontal system will approach from the Atlantic, progressively increasing cloud cover in the Northwest of Portugal. Subsequently, the front will advance eastward and southward, affecting several points in the North and Central regions during Tuesday afternoon and evening.
During the first half of the day, precipitation should remain essentially over the Atlantic and north of mainland Portugal. Around 3 PM, the ECMWF meteorological model already positions the cold front very close to the Minho region.
According to the forecast, eight districts will be the most affected by this temporary change in weather conditions, which will mark the end of the dry weather period that had occurred in the previous days.
