Companies and active entities in Mozambique grew 8.5% in 2025 to 114 thousand – INE

Mozambique registered in 2025 a total of more than 114 thousand companies, organizations and other active entities in the country, according to data from the National Statistics Institute. This number represents an annual growth of 8.5% compared to the previous period.

The registered entities employed approximately 1.11 million people, which corresponds to an increase of 9.1% in the number of workers compared to the previous year. This data indicates that employment growth was higher than the growth in the number of companies.

The numbers are part of a report prepared by the National Statistics Institute of Mozambique, which compiles statistics on economic and business activity in the country during the period under analysis.
