A collision between a car and a motorized bicycle caused one fatality in the afternoon of this Monday in Vila Nova de Cacela, in the municipality of Vila Real de Santo António, in the Algarve. The accident occurred at the intersection of National Road 125 (EN125) to Manta Rota and required the temporary closure of road traffic on that stretch, which was subsequently restored.
The victim, a man, was assisted at the scene by emergency teams, but eventually died from his injuries. The alert for the incident was given at 14:43.
The rescue operations mobilized 20 operatives, supported by seven vehicles and one air vehicle. The operation involved the Firefighters of Vila Real de Santo António and Castro Marim, the National Institute of Medical Emergency (INEM) and the Republican National Guard (GNR).
