The striker Neymar Jr., currently at Santos, appealed to the Superior Court of Justice (STJ) to have a Spanish court decision recognized in Brazil that acquitted him of the accusations made by DIS company. The company filed lawsuits related to the player's transfer from Santos to Barcelona, made in May 2013.
The case involves the multi-million transaction between the two clubs, in which DIS, which held part of Neymar's economic rights at the time, filed lawsuits alleging irregularities in the negotiation. The Spanish court, however, acquitted Neymar of the corruption and fraud charges.
Now, the player seeks to have the favorable decision obtained in Spain validated in the Brazilian legal system, avoiding possible legal developments in the country. The appeal was filed days before the article was published.
