Clandestine hallucinogenic mushroom laboratory found in DF after app driver arrest

extra8 September 2026 at 08:00

A clandestine laboratory for cultivating hallucinogenic mushrooms was dismantled by the Federal District Civil Police (PCDF), resulting in the arrest of a 47-year-old woman on drug trafficking charges. The operation, called "Magic Mushroom," was conducted by the Drug Enforcement Section (SRD) of the 6th Police District, located in Paranoá.

The investigation began after the arrest of an app driver who was transporting mushrooms containing psilocybin, a substance prohibited by the National Health Surveillance Agency (Anvisa). At the time of the driver's arrest, police initiated investigations to identify the origin of the narcotics.

The operations were carried out last Thursday (3), when agents executed the judicial warrants and located the clandestine laboratory. Psilocybin, the active principle present in the seized mushrooms, is a controlled substance in Brazil and its production, sale, and consumption are considered crimes under Brazilian law.
