Parliament debated on Tuesday at 3:00 PM a censorship motion presented by the Chega party against the Government. The motion was presented as an initiative by the far-right party against the executive.
The Socialist Party (PS), which is the main opposition party, decided to abstain from voting on this censorship motion. This abstention position was communicated before the debate took place in the Assembly of the Republic.
The debate took place in the parliamentary chamber, where the different parties had the opportunity to express their views on the motion presented by Chega and on the Government's performance that was at issue.
The censorship motion is a parliamentary instrument that allows parties to formally oppose the continuation of a Government, although its approval depends on obtaining an absolute majority in the Assembly of the Republic.
