The Instituto da Mobilidade e dos Transportes (IMT) presents a new organic structure that takes effect in October, marking a profound reformulation of the structure of the body responsible for the regulation and management of mobility in Portugal.
The new structure focuses on three fundamental pillars: the promotion of more sustainable mobility, the strengthening of intermodality and the commitment to digitizing the sector. These axes reflect the new trends and requirements that currently shape mobility globally.
With this reform, the IMT aims to adapt the sector to the new mobility requirements, responding to contemporary challenges such as climate change, the need to reduce dependence on individual road transport and the integration of new technologies in transport systems.
The entry into force of the new structure in October represents a moment of transition for the body, which should assume a more active role in the coordination and implementation of mobility policies aligned with sustainability and innovation objectives.
