First business day after holiday will bring rain to Rio and SP and frost to the South; see forecast for the entire country

This Tuesday (8), the first business day after the September 7 holiday, will see cold beginning to lose strength in southern Brazil, while in the Southeast, parts of the North, Central-West and Northeast there will be rain showers, some with heavy intensity accompanied by thunderstorms. In Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo, rain is forecast.

In the South, the weather remains steady across most of the region, with sun and few clouds. Temperatures stay low in the morning, especially in Rio Grande do Sul, Santa Catarina and southern Paraná, but the cold begins to ease throughout the day. Frost is forecast during the early morning and at dawn in east-central Rio Grande do Sul and in the mountainous areas of Santa Catarina.

Among the state capitals in the South region, the minimum will be 8°C in Curitiba, while Porto Alegre can reach 22°C. In Paraná, cloud cover increases throughout the day.
