Péricles, considered one of the greatest samba singers of all time, took the Sunset Stage at Rock in Rio wearing a jacket decorated with sequins and was introduced by Zé Ricardo as "the king of voice." The show was one of the most anticipated of this edition of the festival.

In this performance, Péricles had the mission of defending a Motown repertoire, the legendary American record label responsible for launching artists like Michael Jackson, Stevie Wonder, and Marvin Gaye, among others. He started by presenting classics like "Ain't No Mountain High Enough," "I Want You Back" by the Jackson 5, and "My Girl" by The Temptations.

The singer was accompanied by a band featuring Maurício Piassarollo on piano, Helton Fagundes on guitar, Jorge Ailton on bass, and Wallace Santos on drums. The performance confirmed Péricles' vocal quality, as he managed to adapt his voice to American soul and R&B style.

The article highlights that it was no surprise to anyone that he held his own very well, but notes that he never left his comfort zone, since he is better known for pagode and samba.
