Latvia has banned the import of books, newspapers and other printed materials from Russia and Belarus. The measure was announced on Monday by the Latvian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The Latvian government justifies the ban as a way to combat "disinformation and war propaganda". The decision is part of a broader set of sanctions and restrictions that Baltic countries have been implementing against Russia and its allies since the start of the war in Ukraine.
