Bernie Ecclestone, former Formula 1 boss, admitted to entering Portugal with a firearm without the proper documentation. In statements to the Daily Mail newspaper, Ecclestone confirmed that the weapon was being transported from Switzerland to Portugal.

Ecclestone stated that the weapon would be used for "clay pigeon shooting," a sporting activity also known as precision shooting at clay targets. The former executive did not specify when the incident occurred.

According to Ecclestone's statements, authorities informed him he would be arrested due to the lack of documentation for the weapon. However, he stated that "we resolved the situation," suggesting the problem was somehow resolved.

Ecclestone, who commanded Formula 1 for decades, did not comment on whether he faced any legal consequences for the incident in Portugal.
