About 30 robots marched through the streets of Warsaw, Poland, this Monday (7), waving flags, chanting slogans and marching in circles in a protest for stronger regulation of artificial intelligence in the country. The humanoid and quadruped robots carried banners with messages such as "Defend jobs," "It's time for rules" and "Don't wait, regulate," which were played through speakers integrated into their bodies.
The demonstration was organized by "Democratism," an initiative that, according to its official website, seeks to launch a public debate about how AI and robotization affect the labor market. The group used the robots as a symbol to draw attention to the need for stricter rules on the use of artificial intelligence technologies.
Among the participants was the Agibot A3, a humanoid robot equipped with AI, who spoke to the AFP news agency during the event. According to it, the robots present aimed to demonstrate that artificial intelligence technology is already a concrete reality in everyday life, reinforcing the urgency for appropriate regulation by the Polish government.
