One of PlayStation's most iconic series may be about to return

One of PlayStation's most iconic series may be about to return. This is the Killzone franchise, which hasn't received a new title since 2013.

Guerilla Games, the studio responsible for the series, appears to be planning the return of this IP through a remasterization or a remake.

The first game in the series, Killzone, was originally released for the PlayStation 2 in 2004, becoming one of the launch titles for Sony's console.

If confirmed, this would be an opportunity for newer fans to discover this science fiction first-person shooter franchise, which was for years one of PlayStation's main exclusives.

A couple of expats who moved to the Algarve in 2022 created the free application "Stray – Algarve Cat Help", launched this year for Android and iPhone, which helps anyone who finds abandoned cats quickly identify the nearest municipal kennel, veterinarian, or association in any of the sixteen municipalities of the region. The app arose from the couple's frustration at discovering too late that the sterilization and vaccination of street cats is a free public service available in all Algarve municipalities. Without registration, without advertising, and non-profit, the tool was developed with the collaboration of the associations and municipal kennels themselves, and has already received support from volunteers offering translations and design. The couple continues to feed a colony near Estoi and promotes a fundraiser for food, vaccines, and winter shelters, as well as a children's book whose rights revert to the same cause.
