JPP calls for tax reduction to lower fuel prices and gas cylinder prices

The Juntos Pelo Povo (JPP) party, through its deputy Filipe Sousa in the Assembly of the Republic, presented a Resolution Proposal recommending the Government to immediately reduce the tax burden on fuels. The proposal aims to combat the escalating prices that have affected consumers.

The document also proposes the creation of an automatic mechanism for reducing the ISP (Excise Duty on Petroleum Products), which would allow automatically adjusting taxation on fuels when prices reach certain levels.

Additionally, JPP advocates for implementing measures to control profit margins in the sector and protect consumers against the constant increase in fuel prices and gas cylinder prices.

Filipe Sousa argues that these measures are necessary to mitigate the economic impact of price increases on Portuguese households, making energy products more accessible to the population.
