The President of the Regional Government, Albuquerque, confirmed that the regional minimum wage will be 1,050 euros. The increase is expected to take effect in 2027, representing a value above the national minimum wage.

Albuquerque guarantees that this measure is in full compliance with the agreement established for the current legislative term. The regional executive ensured political coordination with CDS, the party with whom it presumably maintains governance understandings.

The announcement comes in the context of a valorization of salary conditions in the region, at a time when the cost of living and social policies in the Azores are being discussed. This decision positions the regional minimum wage as one of the highest references at the national level.
