A keeper working at Adventure Park, a tourist park in Port Moresby, the capital of Papua New Guinea, died on Sunday (September 6) after being dragged and bitten by a crocodile. The employee was trying to feed the reptile with a chicken inside an enclosure at the park on Saturday afternoon (September 5) when he was suddenly attacked by the animal.
The man remained trapped in the crocodile's jaws for over an hour. Police were called to the scene and had to shoot the reptile to free the victim, who was rushed to a nearby hospital.
Visitors who were at the park were evacuated amid the chaos caused by the incident. Despite medical efforts, the keeper died from his injuries on Sunday morning, as reported by the Australian Broadcasting Corporation.
A witness named Gibson John described the moment of the attack: "He brought the chicken to the fence. The crocodile attacked him and pulled him into the pool."
