Union classifies the teacher placement process in Madeira as a "disaster"

The Madeira Teachers' Union (SPM) classified the teacher placement process for the 2026/2027 school year as a "disaster". The union organization considered that the number of hired teachers, 216, is insufficient to meet the region's needs.

The SPM called a demonstration for Wednesday as a form of protest against this situation. The union publicly expressed its dissatisfaction with how the process is unfolding, using strong language to describe what it considers to be a serious failure in the management of teaching human resources in Madeira.
