Chega guarantees it will continue to dialogue with the Government despite the motion of censure

RTP Notícias7 September 2026 at 17:10

The president of Chega, André Ventura, stated this Monday that the party will continue to dialogue with the Executive in fundamental areas, even after the presentation of a motion of censure to the Government. This position comes at a time of political tension between the two sides.

The motion of censure is expected to be voted on and rejected on Tuesday, as André Ventura stated. The rejection is expected since Chega is an opposition party and does not have the necessary majority to pass the motion.

André Ventura also revealed having received a request for a meeting from the Government to debate the discussion of the State Budget. This invitation demonstrates that, despite the motion of censure, there is still willingness from both sides to maintain institutional dialogue.
