The president of the Regional Government of Madeira, Miguel Albuquerque, confirmed José Manuel Rodrigues's statements about an increase in the regional minimum wage to 1,050 euros in 2027. Albuquerque stated that this measure is planned and represents a commitment made by the Madeiran executive.

According to the head of the regional executive, this increase in the minimum wage was prepared jointly with CDS, the party that is part of the governing coalition in Madeira. Albuquerque emphasized that this is a measure agreed between the governance partners.

The statements were made on the sidelines of the inauguration ceremony of low-cost housing in Porto, where Albuquerque responded to journalists about the social measures planned for the region. The president of the Regional Government thus reiterated the commitment to increasing the wages of Madeiran workers.
