SAPO Notícias7 September 2026 at 15:28

Carris will receive 29 more electric buses in an investment of 17.05 million euros. This acquisition is part of the company's fleet modernization plan for Lisbon's public transport.

The Chairman of Carris's Board of Directors highlighted that the company managed to execute 100% of its RRP (Recovery and Resilience Plan). This achievement represents a significant milestone for the company.

According to the official, it required "very demanding" work to ensure that the new buses would be in service at the start of the school year. Meeting this deadline demonstrates Carris's commitment to its passengers.

With this acquisition, Carris reinforces its fleet of electric vehicles, contributing to more sustainable mobility in the city of Lisbon.

German market remains stable after AfD victory in Saxony-Anhalt

The regional elections in Saxony-Anhalt in September 2026 marked a historic milestone for the German far right, with the AfD reaching approximately 43.8% to 44% of the vote, the party's best-ever result, while the CDU fell to 17.2%. However, the market reaction was contained: the DAX fell slightly (-0.24%), the euro remained stable and other European indices posted modest gains. Broker XTB explains that the limited impact is due to the state's small economic size (only 1.8% to 2% of German GDP) and investors' belief that the odds of the AfD taking government, even at the state level, remain low, thanks to the "Brandmauer" maintained by traditional parties. However, XTB warns that in the long term, policies such as leaving the eurozone or restoring relations with Russia could represent a significant shock to the German economy, further warning that the weakening of Chancellor Merz's government fuels political fragmentation and may raise Germany's risk premium.

The fund is also considering involving international partners, including co-investors from Asia, given the growing popularity of the competition on that continent and in Portugal.
