Vaz Nobre Clinic opened its new Neurodevelopment and Mental Health Center on September 11th, in Póvoa de Santo Adrião. This is the clinic's third space in less than three years, joining the two existing units in Belas and Póvoa de Santo Adrião. The opening represents a natural evolution of the work the clinic had been developing with children, youth and families.
The new center brings together several clinical services, with a focus on Psychology, offering psychological support for children, youth and adults, as well as parental counseling. The offering is complemented by Psychiatry, Neuropsychology, Cognitive Training and Occupational Therapy consultations, allowing a multidisciplinary and integrated approach.
One of the standout spaces is the Occupational Therapy gym, a large room that allows simultaneous support for two children, each with their own therapist. Each child maintains individual goals and an individualized intervention plan, although the presence of another child can be used as an additional opportunity for interaction.
The creation of this center also marks Vaz Nobre's expansion beyond childhood, integrating psychological and psychiatric support for adults for the first time. According to Patrícia Vaz, co-founder of the clinic and speech therapist with more than 10 years of experience, the goal is to meet the needs of families in an integrated, close and individualized manner.
