The Grindr dating app was forced to compensate thousands of users after a scandal involving the sharing of sensitive health data about users, specifically information related to HIV status.

Approximately 12,000 affected people will receive compensation of approximately 2,500 euros each, as a result of a settlement reached after revelations about the platform's data sharing practices.

The scandal involved the unauthorized disclosure of users' private medical information, which raised significant concerns about the protection of sensitive personal data and the privacy of the app's members.
