A bridge linking Russia and North Korea was inaugurated, strengthening the connection between the two countries. The construction of this road bridge began in 2024 and complemented an existing railway bridge that was built in the 1950s during the Soviet era.
This infrastructure represents a milestone in the cooperation between Moscow and Pyongyang, which have been drawing closer since the beginning of the war in Ukraine. The reinforced alliance between Russia and North Korea has been closely monitored by the international community, in a context of growing geopolitical tensions.
The new bridge now allows the passage of road vehicles between the two countries, facilitating the transport of goods and people. This physical connection thus joins the historic railway bridge as a symbol of bilateral cooperation between Moscow and Pyongyang.
