Former prime minister José Sócrates presented a complaint to the attorney general of the Republic against Jorge Rosário Teixeira, the magistrate who led the investigation of Operation Marquês. The complaint refers to alleged perjury given by the prosecutor at the Lisbon Circle Administrative Court.
According to the statement released by Sócrates, the reported facts may constitute perjury. The statements were allegedly given under oath during the trial of an administrative action brought by the former official.
