Quinta do Paral, in Vidigueira, surpassed 85% occupancy in 2026, a year in which The Wine Hotel recorded growth of between 20% and 25% in occupancy compared to the previous year. The figures were revealed by Filipe Beja Simões, director of The Wine Hotel, in exclusive statements to Alentrium.pt during the "Alentejo Autêntico" event. The manager stated he was very satisfied with the result, highlighting that the establishment has significantly diversified its guest profiles and nationalities, without depending on a single source market.
The evolution of tourism demand throughout the calendar is another aspect highlighted by Filipe Beja Simões. Although he acknowledges that seasonality remains present, the manager believes that guest behavior is contributing to extending activity beyond the traditionally stronger months. In his view, the Alentejo is "increasingly less seasonal," with different international markets contributing to more evenly distributed demand throughout the year.
The statements were made on the sidelines of the "Alentejo Autêntico" event, an initiative promoted by the Regional Tourism Entity of Alentejo and Ribatejo that combines music and culture with the tourism promotion of the territory. For Filipe Beja Simões, this approach aligns with the positioning developed by Quinta do Paral itself, which seeks to work with authenticity and showcase the best of what the Alentejo has to offer.
The manager also recalled the reaction of a foreign guest who, despite not understanding Portuguese, confessed to feeling moved to tears while listening to the music during a concert at Quinta do Paral. Filipe Beja Simões considered that the episode illustrates music's ability to convey the territory's identity beyond language, stating that "when you sing with soul, that comes through."
