The Old Primary School of Forno Telheiro, in Celorico da Beira, will host on September 20 a historical recreation of wine making in a rock-carved winepress. The event will take place between 4pm and 7pm and is integrated into the European Heritage Days 2026.
The initiative will be preceded by a lecture with researchers who have been developing studies on the subject, adding an educational component to the historical recreation. Participants will thus be able to learn more about the wine-making tradition of the region through the explanation of specialists.
The recreation promises to go back in time to show how wine was produced in stone winepresses, an ancestral practice that is part of the cultural heritage of Beira Interior. The event is part of a broader programming for the enhancement and dissemination of the historical and ethnographic heritage of the region.
