Paulo Raimundo, secretary-general of the PCP, used the Avante! Festival to attack the Government's policy and challenged the PS to not make the next State Budget viable. The communist leader did not reveal how the PCP will vote on the motion of censure presented by Chega, but sought to distance himself from this initiative.
In his speech, Paulo Raimundo emphasized that the country's problem is not Luís Neves, but rather what he classified as "the policy of national disaster" of the executive. In this way, he sought to focus the criticism on the Government's actions rather than on the president of the Assembly of the Republic.
The challenge to the PS to not make the next State Budget viable comes in a context of political tension, with the PCP positioning itself as an alternative to the left of the socialist executive.
