Coimbra hosts for the first time the Pink October Race, an event dedicated to promoting breast cancer prevention. The race is part of the international Pink October campaign, which aims to raise awareness among the population about the importance of early diagnosis of this disease.
Before the race, at 3:00 PM, the 16th edition of the solidarity walk called "Small Steps, Big Gestures" takes place. This walk has a charitable character and will be held simultaneously in several cities in the Centro region of the country.
The event thus combines a sporting component with a strong awareness message about breast cancer, hoping to bring together participants of various ages and backgrounds in the city of Coimbra.
With this initiative, the organizing entities intend to reinforce the importance of prevention and early screening of breast cancer, contributing to greater awareness among the population of the Centro region for this public health cause.
