FNE wants to know how many teachers are missing in schools

The National Education Federation expressed concern about the lack of teachers in schools and wants to know how many teachers still need to be hired for the start of the school year.

According to the federation, there are schools that continue to look for teachers and have not yet managed to fill all available positions.

FNE has directed several questions to the Ministry of Education about this situation, requesting clarification on the current state of hiring in schools.

One of the main issues raised by the federation concerns the positions that remain without candidates, meaning vacancies that have not yet managed to find teachers interested in filling them.

Tomar approves two-euro tourist tax and estimates raising 300 thousand euros per year

The Municipal Chamber of Tomar unanimously approved the final version of the tourist tax regulation of two euros per overnight stay, estimating to raise around 300 thousand euros per year. The value results from approximately 150 thousand annual overnight stays (after exemptions), and the revenue will be destined for the maintenance of public space, tourist promotion and cultural support. The regulation raises from 12 to 13 years the minimum age for application of the tax and provides for exemptions, including for pilgrims. The proposal now goes to voting at the Municipal Assembly and subsequent publication in the Official Gazette.
