The president of the Portuguese Football Federation, Pedro Proença, attended the centenary gala of the Évora Football Association (AFE) and used his speech to highlight the institution as a "reference" in Portuguese district football.
Pedro Proença particularly highlighted the financial recovery achieved by AFE, stating that the century-old association faced insolvency proceedings when the board led by António Pereira took office.
The president of the Portuguese Football Federation also took the opportunity to acknowledge the evolution of sporting activity in the district of Évora, praising the work developed by the current board of the association.
The gala celebrated the 100 years of the Évora Football Association, an institution which, according to Pedro Proença, has become an example of recovery and growth in the context of Portuguese regional football.
