Chega questions the safety of irrigation pipes in Ribeira Brava

SAPO7 September 2026 at 12:50

The Chega party questioned the safety of irrigation pipes in Ribeira Brava, through a complaint made by its representative at the local Parish Assembly. Roberto Gonçalves, elected by that party, sent a statement to the press this Monday to alert to the situation.

The complaint specifically refers to the conditions of the irrigation water pipes on Rua dos Dragoeiros, which were left in a worrying state after an urban development intervention. The work carried out altered the route of the existing irrigation system.

According to the statement, the main concern is related to the installation of water flow control covers directly on the public road. This technical solution, implemented during the construction work, raises safety questions for road users.

The party considers that this situation represents a potential risk and demands explanations about the intervention carried out, questioning whether appropriate safety standards were followed for this type of infrastructure.
