Menzies Aviation is strengthening its presence in the international air cargo market with two new strategic operations in Sydney and Amsterdam. In Sydney, the company inaugurated the new cargo infrastructure at Western Sydney International Airport in August, becoming the first approved cargo operator to support the new airport's international goods operations. With 12,500 square meters, this is the largest facility for the company in its Oceania and Southeast Asia network, with capacity to handle up to 200,000 tonnes of cargo per year, prepared for pharmaceutical, perishable, e-commerce and heavy cargo.
In Europe, Menzies Aviation began operations for Qatar Airways Cargo at Amsterdam Schiphol Airport in early August. Since the launch, Menzies teams have been ensuring 22 weekly flights under a five-year contract, subcontracted through Worldwide Flight Services (WFS), and result from several months of planning and preparation.
The investment in Sydney coincides with a new phase for Western Sydney International Airport, which now operates 24 hours a day, strengthening the connection between airlines, freight forwarders, exporters and international markets. According to the company, both projects reinforce the expansion of its global air cargo network and reflect the continuous investment in infrastructure, technology and operational capacity.
