F1 fever takes over Madrid: sold out tickets, hotels at almost 500 euros and a showcase of 467 million

El Periódico Mediterráneo - General7 September 2026 at 12:55

The F1 fever is already fully ignited in Madrid, one week before the single-seaters race for the first time on the Madring circuit. The excitement generated around the Spanish Grand Prix has caused a surge in bookings and accommodation prices, with hotels reaching almost 500 euros per night.

The effects of this fever are already being felt at the airport, in hotels, in tourist rentals and in the streets surrounding Ifema, the main venue of the event. The estimated economic impact of this Grand Prix amounts to 467 million euros.

Ticket demand exceeded all expectations, with all available tickets sold. This sales success forced the preparation of one of the largest mobility operations ever deployed in the Spanish capital for a sporting event.

The event represents the first time Madrid hosts a Formula 1 Grand Prix, positioning the city as a new destination on the international sporting calendar and transforming the Ifema region into the nerve center of world motorsport during the competition days.
