The PSPV ratifies Simó as the sole PSPV candidate for the mayoralty of Castelló as there are no other applicants

El Periódico Mediterráneo - General7 September 2026 at 12:35

The PSPV-PSOE ratified Rafa Simó as the party's sole candidate for the mayoralty of Castelló. The decision was made by the party's regional leadership on Monday, after the deadline for the primary election process closed at 12:00 hours.

Rafa Simó is the general secretary of PSPV-PSOE in Castelló. His candidacy was confirmed as he was the only aspirant submitted within the established deadline for the primary process.

The capital of La Plana, where Simó's candidacy will take place, is Castelló. The socialist party decided to proceed with this candidate without the need for an internal voting process, since no other competitors emerged for the mayoral position.
