Municipalities of Lezíria do Tejo elect governing bodies of the new transport company in the region

The 11 municipalities that are part of the Intermunicipal Community of Lezíria do Tejo unanimously elected the governing bodies of the new company Transportes da Lezíria do Tejo, EIM, S.A., during the first General Assembly of the company, held on September 3. The new company was created with the objective of managing and developing the public service of collective passenger transport in the region.

The municipalities that make up this intermunicipal community are Almeirim, Alpiarça, Azambuja, Benavente, Cartaxo, Chamusca, Coruche, Golegã, Rio Maior, Salvaterra de Magos and Santarém, making a total of 11 municipalities in the Lezíria do Tejo region.

The General Assembly Table will be led by Silvino Lúcio, mayor of Azambuja, with Helena Neves, mayor of Salvaterra de Magos, serving as vice-president, and Sónia Ferreira, mayor of Benavente, as secretary.

The Board of Directors will be chaired by Luís Filipe Santana Dias, mayor of Rio Maior, with Sónia Sanfona, mayor of Coruche, among other members completing the governing structure of the intermunicipal transport company.
