The Belgian Football Association (RBFA) officially announced that it rejects support for a new term for Gianni Infantino as FIFA president. With this decision, Belgium joined the group of federations that oppose the re-election of the current president of the governing body of world football.
This position of the Belgian federation represents the first official stance taken by a federation since the formal announcement of Infantino's candidacy. Until now, no other federation had publicly spoken out against support for the Swiss-Italian.
Gianni Infantino has held the position of FIFA president since 2016, having been elected to replace the controversial Joseph Blatter. His potential new term has faced growing opposition from some national federations.
