Iran warned South Korea against participation in United States operations in the Strait of Hormuz, issuing a warning to the South Korean government.
On Friday, Seoul indicated that it was considering contributing to ensure the security of navigation in the strategic Strait of Hormuz, as long as it did not compromise its defense capabilities.
The Strait of Hormuz, a waterway of great strategic importance, has been disrupted since the beginning of the war between the United States and Iran, at the end of February.
The Iranian alert comes in the context of tensions between Tehran and Washington, with Iran trying to dissuade other countries from getting involved alongside the United States in the conflict.
