PJ says it is investigating criminal organization facilitating immigrant entry reported by Repórter Sábado

The Judicial Police (PJ) is investigating a criminal organization that facilitates the illegal entry of immigrants in Portugal. The investigation arose following a report made by the television program Repórter Sábado.

The leaders of this group are Guinean citizens operating from Portugal. These individuals are responsible for recruiting and organizing the entry of irregular immigrants into the country.

The scheme involves the bribery of businessmen who participate in a Portuguese Government program. This program allows the obtaining of work visas in an accelerated timeframe of only 20 days.

The suspects take advantage of the speed of this legal process to introduce immigrants clandestinely, using legal visa procedures to cover up their illegal activities.
