A 27-year-old man will be brought to trial in the coming weeks at the Pirkanmaa District Court in Finland, accused of sexually abusing 361 minors aged between 9 and 17. The public presentation of the case was scheduled for Monday, before the proceedings continue behind closed doors in March. The man was accused of committing various sexual crimes against the victims between 2019 and 2022.
The children who were victims of the abuse lived in different parts of Finland and were approached through social media platforms, including Snapchat. The investigation began when Finnish police announced, in December 2025, that they were investigating a man on suspicion of 364 sexual crimes against minors.
The National Prosecutor's Office subsequently informed that prosecutors decided not to bring all the charges initially investigated, reducing the number of charges from 364 to 361. The case represents one of the largest documented child sexual abuse scandals in Finland, highlighting the risks that children face on social media platforms.
