A 45-year-old man was injured and trapped on the morning of this Monday, September 7, following a collision between two vans in Coimbra. The accident occurred when the driver in front stopped at the traffic light, but the van following behind failed to brake in time, hitting the vehicle that was stopped.
The two vans involved in the accident belonged to the same company, which led authorities to investigate the exact circumstances of the incident. The man became trapped in the wreckage and needed to be freed by firefighters, who dispatched members from the local fire station to the scene of the accident.
The alert was given during the morning, with firefighters, Civil Protection and emergency medical services being dispatched to the scene. The competent authorities proceeded with the investigation of the accident to determine the exact causes and any responsibilities.
