Court orders closure of quarry after complaints of excessive noise and dust

Correio da Manhã7 September 2026 at 10:13

The Gondomar Court issued a decision requiring the closure of a quarry in the region. The company was ordered to cease all activity by Monday.

The measure came following complaints filed by residents regarding excessive noise and dust caused by the extraction operation. The affected populations reportedly expressed their discomfort with the noise and environmental pollution generated by the quarry.

Should the company fail to comply with the closure order within the established deadline, it will be subject to fines of 2,000 euros for each day of non-compliance. This sanction aims to ensure that the court decision is respected immediately.
