Mickael Akordeon, the musician from Lima, returned to visit the Santa Maria do Lima Retirement Home in Ponte de Lima, where he performed for about an hour with his inseparable concertina. The residents of the institution confirmed the popular saying that "singing chases away troubles," singing traditional songs and recalling themes from the popular songbook.
Mickael Akordeon is already a regular presence at the institution. As he passed by the outdoor area of the home, he was immediately recognized by some of the elderly, who exclaimed "Look, here comes Mickael" and "I really like this young man," to which the musician responded with a hearty "good morning."
In the room where the activity took place, the elderly sat in a circle with the musician at the center, clapped their hands, and sang songs such as "Laurindinha vem à Janela," "Saia Velhinha," and a theme dedicated to São João d'Arga, which was received with particular enthusiasm. Mickael challenged the elderly to accompany him and go to the chest of memories through music.
