Pestana prepares 236 tourist apartments next to the beach in Porto Covo

Alentrium7 September 2026 at 09:30

The Pestana Hotel Group is preparing a new tourist development with 236 apartments in Porto Covo, in the municipality of Sines. The project, called Pestana Porto Covo Beach Residences, will occupy a plot of approximately eight hectares, located about 50 meters from Praia Grande, and will be comprised of tourist apartments integrated in a private condominium with private swimming pools, gardens and leisure spaces.

Construction will be carried out by Carvoeiro Construções, a company belonging to the Pestana Hotel Group, while the architectural development is led by architect Gonçalo Salazar de Sousa. Upon completion, the complex will be under full management of the Pestana Hotel Group, both in terms of tourist operations and condominium administration.

The project is located in an environmentally sensitive area, since Porto Covo is integrated in the Southwest Alentejo and Vicentine Coast Natural Park. The number of units was reduced from 238 to 236 apartments, this being the currently confirmed figure on the project's official website.

Construction start has been pointed to September 2026, although there are conflicting indications regarding the concrete date for the works to begin. The project's official website confirms Carvoeiro Construções as responsible for construction, but does not currently indicate a start date.

Luxury housing rents in Lisbon rose 7.6%, representing one of the biggest variations among 30 world cities analyzed by real estate consultancy Savills. Hidden Water Leaks: 7 Signs to Watch Out For

This informative article addresses the identification of hidden water leaks in homes, presenting seven signs that homeowners should watch out for: unexplained increase in water consumption on the bill, consumption recorded on the meter with everything closed, moisture stains and mold on walls, changes in floors and baseboards, persistent water circulation noises, and pressure changes. The article warns that the origin of the leak does not always correspond to where the water becomes visible, and recommends avoiding destructive interventions before an adequate diagnosis. Technical methods such as thermography, acoustic methods with geophones, tracer gas, and CCTV video inspection are described, which allow locating the leak without unnecessary construction work. Technical evaluation is recommended when signs persist and household checks cannot clarify the origin of the problem.
