Luxury housing rents rise 7.6% in Lisbon: it is one of the biggest increases among 30 world cities analyzed by Savills

Expresso7 September 2026 at 13:06

Luxury housing rents in Lisbon rose 7.6%, representing one of the biggest increases among 30 world cities analyzed by real estate consultancy Savills. This growth places Lisbon among the most dynamic markets in the high-end housing segment globally.

Rental in this segment is being driven by the scarcity of supply for sale, which has led more potential buyers to opt for rental as an alternative. The accumulated demand for luxury properties, both for purchase and rental, has exceeded availability in the Lisbon market.

According to Savills data, rental values in the luxury segment in Lisbon already surpass those of cities such as Madrid and Berlin. This reflects the growing attractiveness of Lisbon for investors and residents in the premium market, despite the significant increase in values practiced.

Real estate consultancy Savills identifies this trend as a common phenomenon across several world cities, where the limitation of available supply for acquisition has directed demand toward the rental market, pushing values upward.

Hidden Water Leaks: 7 Signs to Watch Out For

This informative article addresses the identification of hidden water leaks in homes, presenting seven signs that homeowners should watch out for: unexplained increase in water consumption on the bill, consumption recorded on the meter with everything closed, moisture stains and mold on walls, changes in floors and baseboards, persistent water circulation noises, and pressure changes. The article warns that the origin of the leak does not always correspond to where the water becomes visible, and recommends avoiding destructive interventions before an adequate diagnosis. Technical methods such as thermography, acoustic methods with geophones, tracer gas, and CCTV video inspection are described, which allow locating the leak without unnecessary construction work. Technical evaluation is recommended when signs persist and household checks cannot clarify the origin of the problem.
