A 31-year-old man, with a criminal record, allegedly spent three months deceiving elderly people in Barreiro and Moita. The authorities received several complaints from elderly people who were approached by the suspect during this period.
The con man used a technique of affectionate approach, offering little kisses to the victims to gain their trust. After establishing this physical and emotional contact, he managed to manipulate the elderly and obtain money or goods.
The victims were mostly elderly, vulnerable and lonely people, who fell into the suspect's trap. The method took advantage of the fragility and trust of these people.
The Judicial Police managed to identify and locate the suspect, who was eventually arrested. The authorities warn the population about this type of scam that specifically targets the elderly.
