Nepal declared a national day of mourning while rescue efforts continue after flash floods that killed at least 1,300 people in the country. The rescue operations are focused on 12 hydroelectric plants, where around 900 workers remain missing and approximately 500 people are believed to be trapped inside tunnels, according to Nepali authorities. Rescue teams are working against the clock to try to reach survivors trapped in the underground infrastructure of the plants, in a race against time to save lives.
