The Chega party filed a complaint in the Assembly of the Republic about alleged scams targeting tourists at Lisbon, Porto and Faro airports. The intervention request was made by deputy Francisco Gomes, who requested urgent action from PSP and the entities responsible for airport management.
According to the information provided to the parliamentarian, which was disclosed in a press release on Monday, individuals presenting themselves as legitimate service providers are allegedly involved in these fraudulent activities. The reports indicate situations of illegal transportation and intimidation of passengers.
Humberto Delgado Airport in Lisbon has the highest incidence of these cases, according to the information received by the Chega deputy. However, Porto and Faro airports have also reportedly been affected by these alleged scams mainly targeting tourists.
Francisco Gomes wants the competent authorities to investigate these reports and take measures to protect passengers, especially tourists, from these alleged fraudulent practices at the country's main airports.
