ZAP Notícias7 September 2026 at 08:30

Driver Loek Hartog abandoned his race during the China GT in Shanghai to rescue Ollie Millroy from a burning Ferrari, an act of courage that may have saved his life. The accident happened approximately 20 minutes after the start of the first championship race on Saturday, when Millroy's Ferrari was violently hit from the side as a result of a collision between two other cars, catching fire immediately.

Millroy publicly expressed his gratitude for the rescue, stating he owes his life to Hartog and that he will remember the Dutchman's courage for the rest of his life. The accident was serious enough to lead to the immediate stoppage of the race.

The incident took place in the context of the China GT, a gt racing championship held in China, and the race was suspended after the violent accident involving the British driver. Hartog's quick reaction, choosing to stop and help rather than continue in the race, made him a hero on the tracks.
